Russia is the largest country in the world in terms
of area and the 8th most populated country with a population of 142.5
million inhabitants. Although the average GDP per capita is quite low,
Russia as a whole is a big economic power. The economic activity rate is
quite good and the unemployment rate also o.k.
The life expectancy is not that high in Russia. There is also a lack of
drinking water. Furthermore, the HIV rate is higher than in Western
countries and the pollution from greenhouse gases is quite big. The
school life expectancy is above world average and the literacy rate for
adults and youth is very good. Also the tertiary education enrolment
ratio is pretty good.
